José Javier Negrón Cruz: He was born on January 2, 1993 in Manatí, Puerto Rico. He studied his higher grades at the Jaime A. Collazo del Río School and at the Josefa del Río Guerrero School. Bachelor Cum Laude in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance at the University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo. Jose has completed internships in payroll preparation and in accounting and administration. He is part of the Board of Directors of the Moroveño Cultural Center as treasurer and manager of social networks and website.
José M. Santos Valderrama: He was born in Morovis. He has a bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a certification in scholar social work. He currently works for the Model Forest as a consultant for the strengthening of the Puerto Rico Model Forest Multisectoral Table in matters of organization, community development and citizen participation. He has been involved in environmental issues since 2013, including his involvement in the fight against the proposed Arecibo solid waste incineration project. He is currently studying his master's degree in Social Work with a concentration in Community Development from the Beatriz Lasalle Graduate School at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. It is collaborating with the organization of the Cooperative in Morovis oriented to community-based ecotourism in the Natural Reserve of Las Cabachuelas.
Aridni Z. Martínez Medina: Young Puerto Rican born in Manatí and raised in Morovis. She is currently starting her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras. She has collaborated in several community organizations such as: The Moroveño Cultural Center, the Moroveña Savings and Credit Cooperative and the Morovis Lions Club. She also participated in extracurricular activities such as the Student Council, Health Club, creation of murals among others. Through her performance in community work, she found the CabaCoop Work Cooperative, a growth organization that would develop the culture and nature of the Las Cabachuelas Nature Reserve.
Ramón Aneudi Martínez Meléndez: He was born in Arecibo and raised in Morovis. Mathematics teacher and currently directs the Office of Art, Culture, Tourism and Education in the Municipal Administration of Morovis. He was President of the Moroveño Cultural Center and his deep love for Las Cabachuelas has led him to promote trips to the Nature Reserve. He is currently developing as an interpreter for the National Association for Interpretation and writing an unpublished novel on this subject. He is currently a founding member of the Las Cabachuelas Work Cooperative.
Indira B. Medina Córdova: Moroveña who was born on February 14, 1976. Mother, wife and teacher of history and Spanish. Her passions stand out for traveling with international students and the development of the Soy Cultural Manager project. Mrs. Indira presides over the Board of Directors of the Moroveño Cultural Center where the Cabachuelas Project was conceived. She is certified in Linguistics and Heritage Interpretation by the National Association for Interpretation.
Myriam Rivera: She was born on April 29, 1956 in Morovis. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Biology Curriculum from the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras. She was Co-director of the Puerto Rico Environmental Education Project (PROEA) and Executive Director of the Eco-Educational Center of Puerto Rico (CEDUCA). Member of the Scientific Review Committee of the Puerto Rico Department of Education for International Science and Engineering Fairs. Collaborator of the Sea Grant Program of the University of Puerto Rico. She completed environmental internships at Princeton University, Wiscousin University, Southern Mississippi University, the United States Naval Academy in Anapolis, among others. She worked on the drafting of the project that declares Las Cabachuelas as a Nature Reserve. She dedicated 30 years to teaching science in the country's public system.
Félix Meléndez: He was born in Manatí on February 26, 1989. He has a bachelor's degree in Humanities with a concentration in Hispanic Studies and Drama from the University of Puerto Rico, currently a certified Yoga teacher, beekeeper, editor, and workshop facilitator. He was part of the Information As Aid Puerto Rico pilot program as a citizen correspondent. He is part of the reporter group of the international non-profit organization Internews: Information Changes Lifes.
Abdiel Rosado: He was born on August 4, 1997 in Manatí. Environmental interpreter and tour guide. He has a bachelor's degree in Physical and Environmental Geography from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. One of his greatest passions is adventure and extreme sports. He promises to have a pleasant experience for everyone since one of his greatest expectations is the enjoyment of all and the education of our resources.
